UCI Ph.D. students Nicole DeVille and Amy Dixit, were selected as this year’s ELISS Fellows by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Nicole is also a Competitive Edge Scholar and a Data Science Graduate Fellow working on her dissertation with Professor Andrew Noymer. Amy is a Ph.D. candidate working on her dissertation with Professor Guiyun Yan on global health research in Asia and Africa.
The mission of the AAAS Emerging Leaders in Science and Society (ELISS) program is to recognize and support graduate students who collaborate across boundaries to tackle complex society problems.
This is the first year that UC Irvine will have ELISS Fellows.
